Venture Award shortlist reading

Join us on 12 April 2012 to celebrate the shortlist of the Venture Award with readings from shortlisted poets:
Rowyda Amin, Cath Drake, Doreen Hinchliffe, Russell Jones, Andrew Martin, Sarah B Westcott

Headline guest, Warsan Shire, will also read from her incredible new pamphlet ‘Teaching my Mother How to Give Birth’. Tickets are only £7 and it all happens in funky Bethnal Green at Oxford House. In keeping with the spirit of celebration, flipped eye publishing will send a free copy of their fiction anthology x-24: unclassified to the first 20 people who buy advance tickets (only 3 x-24s left!), to the 20 people after that, they’ll send one of their exclusive travelcard/train ticket wallets.   Also ALL ticket holders will be entitled to a FREE book from the flipped eye publishing books on display on the night. So, if you’re one of the early buyers you get TWO flipped eye books for your £7 ticket PLUS the fantastic readings.

Loose Muse literary feast

Playwright Clare Booker and I will be featuring at Loose Muse on Wednesday 14thMarch. Claire has commissioned actors to perform extracts from her new play. Loose Muse takes place every second Wednesday of the month, at the Poetry Cafe22 Betterton Street, London WC2 (closest tube is Covent Garden). This is London’s only regular event for women writers of all genres, with a generous open mike sharing session plus two featured writers each month and discussions.
